Itinerary

The appeal of this route lies in the the variety of content, such as Zabes village with an interesting way of building within the village, great vantage point which are offering a view of Crmnica, most of the Skadar Lake and its hinterland. Particularly interesting, is the old village Godinje which -according to tradition – was given this name a thousand years ago by Duklja’s Prince Vladimir. It is perched on a hill and almost all houses are connected with one another, to ensure a better defense during the war with the Ottoman Empire. The village is famous for its excellent wine, the tunnels once used for escaping and hiding, some of which are today reborn as wineries. In this beautiful village, there is a 13th century church along with the ruins of the church from the 7th century, nine mills and the Balsic dynasty summer house from the Middle Ages. It is also famous for 10 springs of potable water. The village Godinje nears a small beautiful beach harboring ancient stone buildings. We will conclude our trip with a kayak or a boat ride. Visit to a winery with a great cellar, and even greater red wines to cap off our trip for the day.
